Aerial Lifts and Work Platforms

Dependent on which type of Aerial Lift or Work platform requires inspection different codes may apply. CSA codes and standards provide guidance on the specific requirements which may relate to your piece of equipment. Most Aerial Lifts will have inspection requirements mandated under CAN/CSA-B354.2-01or CAN/CSA B354.4-02. The CAN/CSA-B354.4-02 standard is applicable to self-propelled integral chassis elevated work platforms that have a platform that cannot be positioned completely beyond the base of the chassis and the CAN/CSA-B354.4-02 standard is applicable to self-propelled boom-supported integral chassis elevated work platforms that have a platform capable of being positioned completely beyond the base.

Specific code/ standard applications will apply to other categories of equipment such as fire trucks (NFPA 1914). This would be the governing standard to identify the inspection criterium for these types of assets. Whichever type of equipment you may possess it is best to refer to a company such as Nortech Advanced NDT that has the expertise to assist in navigating through these requirements due to the numerous codes and/or specific jurisdiction that may apply.

The Nortech Advanced NDT team of technicians is trained at identifying the critical stress areas that could potentially cause problems or even machine failure.
