Rough/ All Terrain, Crawler, Locomotive, Spyder, service cranes, Carry Deck, Yard Boss & Boom Trucks (Articulating cranes Z150.3)

All cranes shall be inspected, tested, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and the requirements of CSA Z150.5 or as specified by the manufacturer’s manual unless otherwise approved by the original equipment manufacturer or an engineer.

Annual Inspections of listed cranes will comply with CSA Z150-98 (R2004) (Please reference which revision of the code applies to your jurisdiction) in accordance with CSA W59 and be further examined by an appropriate NDT method to the requirements of CAN/CGSB 48.9712/ISO 9712 by competent persons under direct supervision of a Professional engineer competent in the inspection of cranes.

Nortech supports with the inspection of all structural components of the crane, which include, but are not limited to the following items:

  • Outriggers and Outrigger Boxes

  • Rotating Frame and Bearing, including Main Base Plate welds

  • Steering Knuckles

  • Track Frames and connections to Carrier

  • Outer Bails (Equalizers)

  • Gantry and Live Mast, Boom and Jib Masts

  • Boom Hoist, Boom and Jib sections

  • Chassis

  • Boom support Hydraulic Cylinder mounts

  • Sheaves, Hook, Blocks and Wedge Sockets

  • Access and Egress Ladders and Platforms

  • Counterweights and Counterweight attachments
